A pinch and a punch
The start of month two, so time for a quick review of how my resolutions are going.
spend a bit less time absorbing and a bit more time creating
I’m managing to do a weekly radio show now (if you want details then leave a comment or email me) which I guess counts as a creative outlet. Still room for improvement, though.
get better at staying in touch with people (especially in light of my plans to move city)
I’ve been in touch with a couple of people that I don’t see much, so this isn’t going badly. Need to get on with those moving city plans a bit more quickly, though.
lose 20kg
A good first step would be to actually make a record of this so that I can check progress. That started today. So let’s see.
Back up in Northallerton after a couple of weeks in Reading and it’s almost a novelty being here (albeit one that will wear off pretty quickly). Doing client-based work is weird as it means that you see some locations a LOT over an intense period and then never again. Five years ago I could probably describe every inch of Hook railway station (which I commuted to regularly for a few months) but I haven’t been there since. One day I’ll never be coming back to Northallerton. Weird but sort of an invitation to “do this place – you won’t be back”. I can’t help feeling that I’ve checked out ever conceivable corner of this small town though.
